Homestay Accommodation

Volunteer Placement Options (15–20 hrs per week)

1. Hospitals / Health Clinics

   • Assist with administrative tasks, patient orientation, or public health campaigns

   • Learn about the Chilean healthcare system and community medicine

2. Travel Agencies / Tourism Offices

   • Support in customer service, reservations, and marketing for tours

   • Help tourists with information in English and Spanish

3. Community Centers / NGOs

   • Assist with education programs, cultural workshops, or administrative support

   • Work with children, youth, or seniors in community initiatives

4. Environmental & Rural Projects

   • Collaborate with conservation programs, eco-tourism, or sustainable farming projects

Volunteer duties are adjusted according to Spanish level and participant background.

Spanish & Cultural Learning

• 10 hours of Spanish classes per week (total ~120 hours)

• Special focus on professional and volunteer-related vocabulary

• Weekly cultural workshops (cooking, dance, history, music)

• Monthly weekend excursions:

  • Santiago: Cajón del Maipo, Valparaíso & Viña del Mar

  • Temuco: Villarrica Volcano, hot springs, Mapuche cultural tour

  • Puerto Montt: Chiloé Island, Lake Llanquihue circuit

Sample Weekly Schedule

Monday – Friday

• Morning: Spanish lessons (2 hrs/day)

• Afternoon: Volunteer placement (4 hrs/day)
